What this site is
Holidays is a small reference publication from Younivi. It republishes official public-holiday calendars by country and year, with the producer and licence named on every page. There is no newsroom and no panel of analysts; the work is to read official lists accurately, label what is national and what is regional, and show the result in a form that is easy to scan.
Countries
First-wave desks: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Ireland, India, Japan, Korea, Brazil, Mexico, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, South Africa, New Zealand.
Method
Holiday dates are taken from the authoritative government publication for each desk, or from an official open-data feed where one exists. Where a list is published as a machine-readable file, such as the GOV.UK bank-holidays JSON or the Cabinet Office holiday CSV, the build reads that file directly. Where the official source is a legal text or a published schedule, the dates are encoded from it and the page cites it. We do not commission estimates and we do not interpolate a missing year.
National and regional dates
National holidays apply nationwide. Where an official regional or provincial list exists under a licence that permits reuse, those dates are included and labelled with their region or canton, and they are never added to the national count. Where no reusable regional list was identified, the desk carries national dates only and says so on the sources page. Weekend shifts and substitute days are shown as an observed date alongside the nominal one rather than replacing it.
Sources model
Each source is credited at the foot of the relevant country pages, with a link to its licence. The sources page lists every desk, its national source, any regional sources, and the skip notes that explain which holidays are deliberately not included. We do not resell the data or present a producer's list as our own.
Corrections
When a date, label or citation is wrong we fix the build and regenerate the site. A correction comes from the official source or from a corrected reading of it; we do not hand-edit a printed date between builds. If a source itself revises a date, the page shows the revision the next time it is rebuilt. The contact page explains what to include in a correction request.
Independence and advertising
The site carries advertising through Google AdSense. Advertising has no role in which countries we cover or how a page describes a date, and we do not accept payment to include, exclude or alter a holiday. The calendars are republished for information only; they are not a statement of anyone's legal leave entitlement.
Licensing and reuse
The underlying holiday data belongs to its producers and is used under the licence named on each page. The selection, layout and explanatory text are published by Younivi. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link. You may not present the site as your own or resell the data as a Younivi product.
